This renovated terraced home on Rose Road, Grey Lynn was being prepared for sale when the developer called us in to fix another painter’s poor-quality work. We protected all fixtures, then repainted many walls to correct uneven coverage and sloppy edges. Achieving crisp, sharp lines where white walls met black trims took real precision, the kind of detail that separates a rushed job from a proper one. Working to the developer’s staging deadline, we finished efficiently without compromising on quality, giving the developer confidence to present the home to buyers.
This character bungalow on Ponsonby Terrace had been tenanted for years and was looking tired when it came to us through a property manager ahead of sale. We protected the timber floors and fixtures, then filled dents and marks left by tenants. The interior was repainted in a fresh, neutral scheme, with feature walls added to selected rooms for staging appeal. Everything was completed efficiently to meet the sale timeline, a similar brief to the exterior repaint we carried out nearby on Tole Street.
The walls and ceilings in this Stonefields home had worn patches and textured sections the owners wanted smoothed out. With flooring contractors arriving straight after us, the timeline was tight. We skim plastered the textured areas to a smooth finish, then painted the walls in Resene Zylone Sheen Eighth Tea, a warm, understated tone. Ceilings were finished in Resene Alabaster, with one room in Resene Fog as a feature colour. Handing over on schedule let the flooring installation start without any delay.
This two-level villa above Hobson Bay in Parnell had kept its original detail, panelled doors, a leadlight front door and skylight, pressed metal wallpaper, and ornate fireplace surrounds. The owners wanted every piece of joinery brought to a single white while they were away on holiday. We chose Resene Alabaster, a soft warm white suited to older timber, applying it in Resene Lustacryl across every door, architrave, window, and skirting. With the joinery unified, the eye now goes to the mouldings and timber floors.

Our rule of thumb is however many coats are specified by the paint manufacturer is what we will apply, because by doing anything less is to void your paint warranty. Generally, this means a 3-coat system for new work and a 2-coat system for repaints.
