The existing beige colour scheme had run its course – the owners were after something cleaner and more contemporary that would do justice to the home’s modern lines and strong street presence.
The job came with a practical challenge from the outset. The property sits on a shared driveway used by neighbouring homes, which ruled out a conventional scaffolding setup that would have blocked access for weeks. We worked around this by bringing in a boom lift instead, positioning it carefully on the driveway as needed and moving it clear each time neighbours required access. It kept the project running smoothly without causing any disruption to the surrounding properties – and actually reduced overall cost compared to full scaffolding.
For the roof and upper elevations we used scaffolding where the boom lift couldn’t reach, giving our team safe, stable access across all exterior surfaces.
Before any paint went on, we completed a thorough house wash to strip back surface contaminants and properly prepare the plaster cladding. Plastered homes need that prep done right – skip it and you’re painting over a surface that won’t hold.
The result was a sharp, contemporary exterior that completely transformed the home’s street appeal. The Half Silver Chalice and Element combination works particularly well on a plastered form – the light body colour lets the architectural lines do the talking while the dark roof adds definition and weight. The owners were thrilled with the result, and the job was delivered on time with zero complaints from the neighbours.
