This Avondale property on New North Road needed a full exterior refresh, including the house, iron roof, and deck. The plywood cladding had never been painted before and had started to show the effects of exposure to weather and moisture. The homeowner was heading away on holiday and wanted the project completed while they were away so they could return to a freshly finished home. Organised and installed scaffolding to safely access all areas of the house.
Carried out a full chemical wash to remove mould, mildew, dirt, and surface contaminants from the cladding and roof.
Prepared the previously unpainted plywood cladding to ensure proper adhesion of the coating system.
Applied Resene Wood Primer to fully seal and protect the new plywood surfaces.
Finished the cladding with two coats of Resene Lumbersider in Resene Quarter Surrender for a durable exterior finish.
Prepared and primed the iron roof using Procoat Galvanised Primer.
Applied Procoat Satin Roof Paint in New Denim Blue for a strong, weather-resistant roof coating.
Painted soffits in Resene Black White to create clean contrast with the exterior.
Finished the front door in a bright red feature colour to add a bold focal point at the entrance.
Completed the deck repaint in Resene Stack to match the refreshed exterior appearance.
Carefully removed scaffolding and completed a full site tidy before the homeowner returned.
By the time the owner returned from holiday, the entire home had been transformed. The newly painted cladding, bold front door, and freshly coated roof gave the property a clean, modern look while protecting the previously bare plywood exterior from Auckland’s weather.
